ABOUT

Mission of PSDF is to increase consciousness, education and knowledge of the story of the African Diaspora for people of America and the World to foster understanding and tolerance for culture.

Pass Story of Diaspora Forward, Inc. is the reality of the inspiration of Jordyn Ash, a 13 years old. Her journey began to reach this point when she was 3 years old. She asked her grandfather, “GP why you like that?” This question led to the writing of “The Story GrandPa Told of American and World African Legends and Culture”, the reference book for the activity “Know Our Story … Knowledge Is Power”.

At the completion of the writing, she was featured in several press releases and webinar for UN Recognition of People of African Descent. A short video was submitted to the Presidential Youth Video Festival (President Obamas last festival) when she was 10 years old. During this video, Jordyn created the name for the 501c3 organization, Pass Story of Diaspora Forward, Inc. Her desire was for her generation and others to “Know Our Story … Knowledge Is Power”

Board Members of the organization were selected based on passion, skills, and abilities to facilitate the successful accomplishment of the mission to Pass the Story of Diaspora Forward.

“Tell the Story...Knowledge is Power” produce success in youth. Implementing conclusions of success studies by universities, Dr. W. E. D. Dubois (Schomburg Collections), creator of Black History Week/Month, Dr. Carter G. Woodson, and many scholars established knowledge of self-history and ancestry were essentials to success for people of African descent. Activity provides access for youth to increase knowledge of self-history and ancestry.

Knowledge base for essentials to success does not exist in many youth. Activity gives youth access to increase this knowledge base ensuring a brighter future. Your support to Pass Story Diaspora Forward, Inc. (501c3 IRS Tax Exempt) furthers the mission to be partners with youth in success. “Tell the Story...Knowledge is Power” uses the reference book, “The Story GrandPa Told of American and World African Legends and Culture”, as the tool for youth access to possess this knowledge base for success.
